The BIG News—A Really Big Hammer!
from our March, 2000 Issue

Stand next to the new V65 and look up...and up...and up! Even the tallest among us is dwarfed by the V65's sheer magnitude. With tool and bracket it measures an impressive 14'. Compare this to our next biggest model, the V55, whose overall height with tool and bracket is 10 1/2'.

This is not the hammer for your average job; it's not meant for "easy" work. Tramac has introduced this heavy hitter to tackle the jobs that require extreme power and efficiency packaged in a hammer that will stand up to its own brute force. It's designed for large excavation projects – foundation excavation and trenching – and requires a carrier between 100,000 to 150,000 lbs.

As with all Tramac hammers, it is lighter than competitive models with like breaking power, making it carrier-friendly (less shock and vibration for the carrier to absorb).

Years in Development and Unprecedented Service Program
Lest the end-user fear expensive maintenance and downtime, Tramac refined the technology of the V65 during more than two years of prototype testing in France and Italy. Tramac made the commitment not to bring this powerhouse to market until they were convinced they had a quality product that would be reliable and easy to maintain. In order to keep the new machines operating at peak efficiency and avoid downtime, the V65s will be sold with a factory-controlled maintenance program with scheduled inspections. "Our commitment to provide trouble-free equipment is what sets us apart...and has throughout the years," says Gary Hesseltine, Vice President, Marketing. "Tramac reliability is no accident. No other big hammer has been developed with this kind of dedication to make sure the equipment is up and running."

Tramac V-Series Features in the V65
The beneficial features of Tramac's other large variable speed models are in the V65. Foremost is the unique patented V-Technology which enables the hammer to sense the hardness of the material being processed and adjust power and striking rate to the optimum combination for greatest productivity.

The patented front guide design, bushings, and tool and retainer pins – the heart of Tramac's TPS Tool Protection System – are of particular importance on hard-working hammers of this size. The fully hydraulic operating principle (the piston is both raised and driven hydraulically without the need for gas assistance) ensures consistent reliability, less maintenance, and a longer working life. Automatic lubrication is standard on the V65.
